It’s Cherry season and I really wanted the kids to enjoy a cold nutritious drink on a nice warm summer day (yes! we finally had one of those) so I though, why not make a smoothie?
Well, a smoothie is a drink based on water and or ice cream and I did say Nutritious 🙂 so I decided I will make them a Cherry Lassi.
Lassi is a traditional Indian drink made with yogurt diluted with water and flavored with fruit juice but why go with juice when you have the fruit itself?
The kids felt like VIP’s when I served it with cherries on top as well 🙂
Cold. Nutritious. Easy.
Here’s how I made it:
Cherry Lassi or Cherry Smoothie
Author: Maya Moscovich
Recipe type: Smoothie
Cuisine: Drinks
Serves: 2 Small Glasses
Fresh, Smooth, Refreshing, Nutritious, PERFECT
Ingredients
- Cup frozen cherries (no need to thaw - they make a much better cold drink when frozen)
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 4 hipping Tbsp organic goat yogurt (you can use any plain yogurt as well)
Instructions
- Place all ingredients in blender and blend. That's it. No extra water needed.
- If it is too thick and you like it more liquid, you can certainly add water or milk.
